Features and Benefits

(1) Non-Invasive Measurement

The SDPA does not have any probe to be inserted to the flow for measurement. It causes no disturbance to the measuring object and ensures accuracy.

(2) High-Spatial Resolution

The SDPA is capable of focusing the laser beams to make a small probe volume. High resolution is achieved.

(3) No Calibration Required

Velocity is determined by the intersection angle and the wavelength of the laser beam. Particle size is obtained by the magnification ratio of the probe volume. The SDPA does not require calibration by means of known-size particles.

(4) Reverse Flow Velocity

The SDPA has a built-in frequency shifter. Positive and negative directions are detected.

(5) No Effect of Refractive Index

The SDPA measurement is independent of the refractive index of particles. It is capable of measuring even if the particle property changes chemically or by temperature.

(6) Particle Orientation

From the shadow image of the particle, it can detect particle orientation and its passage in the probe volume.
