Features and Benefits

(1) Planer Measurement

The ILIDS takes snapshots of a plane. Planar positions of droplets are obtained for 2-dimensional analysis.

(2) Diameter and Velocity Distribution

The ILIDS acquires each individual droplet’s diameter and velocity. This information enables detailed analysis by software, which displays diameter distribution, velocity distribution, diameter-velocity correlation, size-dependant velocity vector map, and so on.

(3) Novel Optical Compression

With a new optical compression technique, Kanomax’s ILIDS system compresses fringe images into broken lines while retaining critical information about the fringe. This method eliminates data loss from overlapping circular images and enables measurement of high-density spray flows.

(4) Automatic Software Analysis

The ILIDS software automatically processes fringe images and analyzes data.

(5) Upgradable from a Conventional PIV

The ILIDS uses components similar to those used in particle image velocimetry (PIV) commonly used for planar velocity distribution. If PIV equipment is already in place, only the receiving optics and data analysis software will be needed to upgrade the equipment to a new ILIDS system.
